MythTVMediaCenter Theme
This theme is inspired by Windows Media Center Edition. I created all graphics (except those used by default from MythTV) and based the theme on an altered version of Titivillus, so elements from that theme may remain. Any help with development is appreciated.
This theme is designed for use in a 100dpi environment. To see what your X11/xorg server is running at try the command xdpyinfo | grep resolution. In order to change your dpi to 100, you must add the DisplaySize directive to your xorg.conf/X86Config under the monitor section. The size you use depends on the resolution you are running. For instance if your resolution is 640×480 then use DisplaySize 162 121. (640*25.4)/100 = 162 and (480*25.4)/100 = 121 (Remember to round down). Another method is available using the DPI option with the nvidia driver.
MythTVMediaCenter OSD
This is a modified version of the Isthmus OSD designed to match this theme. One other notable change is that the size of the status dialog has been reduced. This is so you can view more of the screen when playback is paused.
Notes & Known Issues:
- Make sure to choose the FreeSans font as the OSD font.
- This is designed for 4:3 content. Although it will work for 16:9, it will not look as good. This problem is prevalent in all OSD theme at the moment.
- This theme only supports the default font size.

- 02/26/06 - 0.19 Released - First update in a year. Redesigned the home menu. Other small fixes.
- 02/26/05 - 0.17 Final Released - Version is compatible with the final release of MythTV .17. The Mythweb theme has been dropped temporarily because it needs to be completely re-done.
- 01/08/05 - 0.17 Beta 7 Theme/OSD/MythWeb - Added missing MythVideo gallery definition (thanks Jeremy) and other misc fixes.
- 12/24/04 - 0.17 Beta 6 Theme/OSD/MythWeb - Fixes everywhere. Mythweb note: Internet Explorer does not display png transparencies correctly and the htc behavior is too slow, so please use another browser. Also, there is an unconfirmed problem with Konqueror, I would like to know if the floating program info box works correctly on that browser.
- 12/16/04 - 0.17 Beta 5 Theme - Apologize for the frequent updates, however I felt this one was necessary. This changes the color of the context menu buttons to blue while leaving the button which has focus green, increasing it’s contrast.
- 12/13/04 - 0.17 Beta 4 Theme/Mythweb Theme Released - Added Custom Record watermark and altered the TV guide logo so it no longer resembles the trademarked logo. New MythWeb Theme available - let me know what you think.
- 12/01/04 - 0.17 Beta 3 Theme/OSD Released - Once again minor updates. Beta 2 untarred to the wrong directory and had problems with the selectbar in mythvideo. Also the playback icons in mythmusic have been reduced in size. Other minor updates have been made not worth mentioning.
- 11/26/04 - 0.17 Beta 2 Theme/OSD Released - This is the second release with minor updates. I am experimenting with removing the shadows from all text. Let me know what you think.
- 11/18/04 - 0.17 Beta OSD Released - The first beta version of the OSD has been released.
- 11/15/04 - 0.17 Beta Released - The first beta release is available for download and testing. There are little problems everywhere. Arrows don’t seem to work at all in the latest CVS, however they work on older versions. There are many problems with misplaced arrows and other graphics, many of which I cannot fix because many of the arrow entries do not support the location attribute. I will try and solve these when I have time. You can send me a patch if you want, my email is posted above.
